http://www.momentumww.co.uk/ - UK-based Fashion Targets Breast Cancer (FTBC) – An easily navigable page with clean graphics elements, widgets for displaying and playing video clips, and scrolling through related videos on a list, uses a tabbed structure. The horizontally placed navigation list at the top has a red bar under it that displays a sliding red bar animation to underscore the subject where the cursor is hovering.
http://tackysmack.com/ – Colorful, whimsical page selling vinyl wall appliqués you can “smack up” on your wall. Home page has a box where photos of the company’s various products cycle through. A link to a new product for laptop covers appears to its right. Colored block tabs at the top of all pages show a curled-corner animation as your cursor hovers over them.
http://www.immobiliare-umbria.com/ - A real estate office site in Umbria, Italy, also selling in Tuscany. Home page thumbnail links navigate to feature pages showing a larger photo with a thumbnail photo list underneath. The thumbnails not being shown are white-shaded, and have text callout descriptions triggered by a cursor hover. There is a map and an information box where you send return information and make an inquiry. An anti-spam box with a graphic text drop-down makes sure the respondent is human rather than another computer.
http://www.nmcrec.co.uk/ - This is a site located in the UK, which represents a non-profit organization promoting the best of British classical music internationally. The most intriguing element is the music map, an interactive, animated map showing relational content as exemplified by its composers.
http://www.dogfish.com/ - This is a large microbrewery in Milton, Delaware. Over a hundred plug-in modules were used, involving everything from graphics management on the individual pages to shopping cart and webform apps. This shows what a powerhouse Drupal can be when you customize it with plug-ins.
http://myplay.com/ - Sony/BMG’s new music box site featuring videos, music and photos of their featured artist lineup. Its module use allows full control of what is featured by the site’s content managers, and allows users to make favorite artist lists, while embedding widgets of artist’s lists and review mechanisms in other sites.
http://www.observer.com/ - The New York Observer (newspaper) recently redid its site with Drupal. Neat, with enough white space not to confuse the eye, organized logically for quick navigation, this is, for its genre, as good as it gets.
http://www.salsamontreal.com/ - An eye-popping, blingy site done with no professional development, strictly off the shelf. It touts the Salsa music scene in French-Canadian speaking Montreal.
Claimed for the following sites is a development time in five hours or better, showing Drupal’s user friendliness: http://www.pro-velo-lausanne.ch/ - This is a pro-bicycle site in the French-speaking district of Lausanne, Switzerland. Basic, neat and clean, it directs Swiss web surfers in that region to bicycle paths and routes.
http://www.velocite.ch/10ans/ - Another bicycle enthusiast site: this one from Flanders, in the French-speaking section of Belgium, the country where Drupal was developed.
http://www.fastservice.com/ - A services clearing house site, very text-driven, minimal graphics, lots of links to other links: OK, what do you expect for less than five hours development time…
